HI List, I'm hoping someone in Texas can help me on this one. I am trying to track down the family line of Henry Holt, born Feb 1835 in Mass. His first wife died in 1869. It seems his second marriage was to someone born in Michigan - name unknown. They had a daughter named Cora, born May 1879 in Ohio. According to the 1900 census, Henry was living with his married daughter, Cora Powers in Yoakum, Dewitt, Texas. They also had two boarders - William Wadkins and Freddie Meyers. It appears that Cora married William Watkins in 1901, if I have the correct person on the 1910 census. They were now living in Galveston, Texas, Ward 6. There is no sign of Henry Holt on this census. So I am assuming that Henry Holt died between 1900 and 1910. Is there a death index for Dewitt County, Texas? If so, can someone check for Henry Holt's death between 1900-1910? I would also like to find an obit and a grave site. Following the line of Cora Holt Powers Wadkins (Watkins), it appears she got divorced and moved back to Ohio, if I have the correct person on the 1920 census. She was living in Dayton in 1920 as a boarder with the Ulm family. So far I don't think she had any children. Can anyone help me on this one? Judy in Alfred, NY
