William Holt b1840 in Manchester married Mary Ann Bowers in Stockport 1n 1856. His age given on cert as 21 (should be 16 if birth date correct) We know his mother was Ann Dalton (1st matron of Manchester Infirmary, whos husband? died young and she went to Philadelphia and married a Mr parkinson) On Williams marriage certificate fathers name is given as James Pilkington designer. This is completely alien to anything we know in the family. Could a mistake have been mad? has anyone experience anything like this on certificates they have got? I know ages were always suspect.
