Or are you talking about a Nicholas Holt living in Kentucky much later? I had my father participate in the DNA project and found a DNA match to a Holt in TN, but I can not find any of Nicholas's children (he settled in Andover MA around 1645 or so) who headed south.... so I am trying to figure out if they are decendents of my Nicholas or perhaps another Holt who could be a brother or cousin of Nicholas. There are several Holts who came south around the same time as Nicholas. DNA of Randall Holt who came to VA is not an exact match with my Nicholas... so I thought perhaps there is another Holt or perhaps decendants of Nicholas came south. Have any of your Holt males participated in any of the DNA projects? If not you should check out the national geographic genome project. I did this with my parents and it is really interesting. One thing I have learned is that my Nicholas Holt is connected to Holts living in Lancashire England. How they are connected I may never know...but it is still interesting.
