William Holt and wife Ann were living in Rockingham, North Carolina in the 1800 census. He died shortly thereafter and left a will. Does anyone have any idea who his parents were? I have seen several versions of who his ancestors are and I'm getting very confused. My father always told me that we were either of English or German descent, he didn't know which one. I started this quest to answer that question, but I haven't gotten any closer to finding the answer.
