Dear List, I'm sending this to the HOLT-L in the hope that someone else may have these collateral family lines..since this is my email I won't use quotes: Item 1: My paternal Grandfather, Davis Abdon HOLT,aka D.A. , m. Irene Tucker LINDSEY in Irwinton, Wilkinson co, GA 18 December 1892. Her father was John William LINDSEY, 1843-1922, who was the Pension Comm. of GA at the time of his death in Atlanta. I have information back to James LINDSEY and Sara Frost but no details on James/Sarah other than they were from Edgefield co, SC. Their son, GGGreatgrandfather, Isaac LINDSEY b. ca. 1807- no location, so possibly James was in Edgefied co, SC about 1800-1807? Does anyone have any clues on James parents names, dates or locations/areas to search? Or genealogical data of James and his LINDSEY ancestors? What LINDSEY "line" was James in? I plan to research in Edgefield co, SC in April but only have limited time, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Item 2: Paternal Grandmother, Irene LINDSEY HOLT's sister, Mary Gertrude LINDSEY, aka "Gertrude", m. James Alexander CARSWELL aka "J.A.?", date unknwn but probably in Irwinton, Wilkinson co, GA. Could anyone give me any clues as to J.A.'s parents and siblings? ..with any info. on where to search for Gertude and J.A.'s children, etc. ? I will be in Milledgeville,GA visiting in April, so plan to search in whatever locale I can find for info on the CARSWELLs and LINDSEYs including Wilkinson and Bibb co, GA. Again ANY clues will be gratifying! I'm try to find 1) my relationship with a CARSWELL that my Dad, Cosby HOLT, told me was my cousin, as well as the CARSWELL line. Not being interested at the time in "that stuff", I missed out on a LOT of oral history *groan* 2) Aunt Gertrude's CARSWELL family, etc. and 3) GGrandfather LINDSEY's ancestors in SC and further back. I would be glad to share any research I have on the HOLT,LINDSEY and CARSWELL lines.
