Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Eej.2ACIB/2886 Message Board Post: My ancestor John Stewart 1714-1796 m. Keturah Holt 1714-1797 and they had a son named Simpson b. 1749 d. 1841 and he married Hannah (surname unknown) who died 1813 birthdate unknown as well. Family lore tells me that her surname could be either Rollins or Delano based on the names of children and grandchildren. I have exhausted every avenue in search of information on these names. I am now thinking that perhaps she was a Holt, as it was not uncommon for cousins to marry. The Stewarts came from Ulster in 1718 to Boston, then Andover,MA and then migrated to Amherst, NH. Simpson and Hannah lived in Jaffrey, NH for a time and then moved on to Berlin, VT in abt. 1800. They had a large family. I find census records of Holts in Amherst and Jaffrey, NH about the same time as the Stewarts were there, but they had a large number of family remain in Andover, MA Does anyone have any information on a Hannah, surname Holt or perhaps Gray if her mother was a Holt. Another lead is a Hannah d/o Ebenezer and Mehitable (Stevens) Holt b. in Andover, MA 1749. Ebenezer is s/o Samuel and Hannah (Farnum) Holt; Samuel s/o Samuel and Sarah (Unk) Holt and he is the s/o Nicholas and Elizabeth (Short) Holt - the immigrant. Any clues would be greatly appreciated. I have a reference of the Genealogical History of the Holt Family in the U.S. by Daniel Durrie, but it is limited. Thanks..Nora Stewart Yahl in St. Louis, MO
