Gerald Preas, I know there are many people with the same name in all families but I haven't heard of that many in the Holt line with the name of Samuel. My Great-grandmother was a Holt in NC (Onslow County). Her father was Samuel Holt, I have no idea where he was from but lived and farmed in Onslow County, NC. He was born about 1808, married Narcissa Dennis in 1829. He was ordained a Primitive Baptist Minister in August 1843. That is about all I know about him except for the children's name given in Census. I am wondering if you might have seen any material on a Samuel Holt in NC. Thanks, Dorothy

I misspoke when attempting to identify Samuel Holt b. ca 1826. Some believe that Samuel Holt born ca 1826 may have been son of Samuel Jr., son of Samuel Holt who died ca 1822 in Northampton Co., NC. So far nothing proves/disproves that theory. Can only say he belong among the descendants of Sam Holt who died ca 1822 in Northampton Co., NC. -----Original Message----- From: delins1 [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Saturday, January 20, 2007 1:02 AM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [HOLT] [HOLT-L] Holt Genealogy I haven't counted all the Samuel Holt's that were either born in Limestone Co., AL or passed through there on their way to somewhere else, but I can quickly names off these that were born before 20th century: 1.
