Our house is a pre-Civil War construction of on-site clay brick. To the front is the old military road running N-S - which predates Interstate 75 and US 25 by decades. To the rear is the Old Miami - Erie Canal Bed. A car crashed into the front of the house in the 1950's, causing foundation stones and bricks below grade level to be upturned. The previous owner saved one brick, and re-installed it next to the front entrance to the house. The brick is inscribed: A.P. HOLT AUG -12-1845 Can you add to this story? Gary Geisel Dayton OH
