According to my great uncle (I recently found out was living and called him re: family history) he told me my greatgrandmother (his Mom) was Ada Theodocia Holt Kisner whose parents were John F. Holt who married Lucinda Winter. John F.'s parents were John D. Holt who married Elizabeth Northington. My mom's(deceased 13 years) family is from Yalobusha/Lafayette County MS. Holt was born in 1807 in NC (no clue as to the county). He married Elizabeth Northington in Cumberland Co., NC Nov. 13, 1826. Other early (prior to 1830) Holt marriages from Cumberland Co. that may help are: Elizabeth Holt to Joseph Halloway Sept. 2, 1823 Gidion Holt to Eliza Pittman Jan 4, 1816 Nancy Holt to John Watson Feb. 2, 1826 Rebecca Holt to James Northington Mar. 3, 1818 By 1840, John D. Holt was in Henderson Co., Tn. 1850 Census, Lafayette Co., Ms. John D. Holt 43 farmer NC Elizabeth 43 NC David H. 21 " Mary J. 22 " Jas. M. 17 Tn Columbus G. W. 16 " Andrew J. 14 " John F. 11 " William C. 6 Ms I have lots more if anyone is interested. I don't want to bore the rest of the list. Pam
