    3. Deb and others, We have 72 members of our Family Tree DNA Holt Surname Project and I can safely say that the majority of these members have had favorable results. Some have proven that they were not of particular Holt lines in spite of their paper research or verbal tradition. Some have matched with at least one other researcher. Some have matched up or not matched up with other researchers who have tested with other companies. And to be honest, some have not had the first match up with another researcher or Holt line yet. But the thing that is surprising is the fact that DNA has proven that there are over 30 different unrelated Holt lines represented in the 72 members. But the more members we get, the more possibilities for us all to find our true line and be able to identify some of our distant cousins out there. We have members living in the USA, England, and Norway. Most of our lines are from the UK and one line from Germany proven. DNA definitely has a role to play in genealogical research. Rev.
