I'm not certain we have a match. I'm pretty sure my James Holt was born in 1819. James oldest son was John and he was born 25 Mar 1838, making James about 19 years old at the time of John's birth. James lived his life in Lancashire but John immigrated to the US (Illinois) in May of 1868. It's funny how many Holts there were in Lancashire, even to this day the phone book lists several. Martha Lucinda Boon's father was Reuben H. Boon(two spellings - Boone and Boon)I have information back to Moses Boone in 1786. If this fits any of your information I can give you more. This announcement no doubt will be a great surprise to Miss Belle's large circle of friends in this city, but all will join with The Times in wishing them a happy and prosperous journey through life. May all their joys be great and all their sorrows little ones. In adding the marriage of Rev. A obituary for Soloman was not found. Sherman's brother Alvin holt died on 12 Feb 1968 at Mt. Vernon, Posey County, Indiana and is buried at Mt. Jacob was Catherine's half brother. I researched this line a few years back, along with help from someone else who descended from one of Catherine's children, Florence Thula McKamey's line. From best that can be gotten, it appears that Catherine's full name was Mary Catherine Holt and that she married Robert McKamey (surname has various spellings and misspellings in various records) on Aug 30, 1857 in Greene County Tennessee. They had 7 children. The youngest Samuel McKamey was born about 1874 and Catherine it appears from the census records and Robert McKamey's remarriage died around the same time. Mary Catherine Holt is the daughter of Wyatt Holt and second wife Mary Boleypaw (again that surname has various spellings and misspellings) Mary disappears from the census records after 1850 and it is assumed she died before then but no records have ever been found. Of Catherine's and Robert's children, I was only able to trace 4 of them with any success. The eldest Marshall McKamey (who on occasion lists himself as Marshall Holt), daughter, Sarah Jane McKamey (who married John Andrew Swatzel), daughter Florence Thula McKamey (who married William Andrew Knight and an Unknown Deane), and youngest daughter Mary Catherine McKamey (who married James M. Jones). The main problem with trying to research the McKamey name is the tremendous amounts of spelling and misspellings that go along with that surname. Robert McKamey himself was a mystery after 1870 until I accidently stumbled onto his 1880 census record under the name Amis, I think it was. The name listed bore no resemblence to McKamey but the children associated with it proved it was indeed him. Two of Robert and Catherine's son's Henry and John, I was not able to find anything on except census records and believe they probably died as chiidren. The youngest, Samuel, does appear in the 1880 census with his father but disappears after that but do to the gap in the census between 1880 and 1900 as well as the many misspellings of the name, it is possible I was just not lucky enough to find him in other records. They were both in Hinds County, MS in the 1830 census. William died in 1836 in Hinds County. His spouse, Rhoda, remarried later and moved to Lauderdale County, MS. There is a record where she gave Stephen a power of attorney in dealing with the estate of William. If I get any further info I will let you know and hope you will do the same.
