What I know is that Joseph B. Holt was a Civil War veteran having served in the 1st MN Infantry. Joseph and Julia E. (nee: Robbins) were married on April 1st, 1853 at Moline, IL. They had one child, Emily Burt Holt born 11/26/1854. On the 1883 list of veterans receiving pensions, he is listed (as Joseph B. Hoes) to Hammonton, New Jersey and with pension certificate #122,745. Joseph B. died at Hammonton, NJ on 9/8/1899 and Julia E. died 9/18/1895 also at Hammonton. I have been unable to establish any contact with the cemeteries in Hammonton either by phone, letter, or personal visit, but I strongly suspect that they are buried there. I walked the cemeteries twice and did not find a stone for them either. Doesn't mean that there isn't one, it just means that I couldn't find it. Thankyou again, Thomas Seth Holt This is my line through John W. Holt married to Suzanna Cobun (my great grandparents). I haven't yet found the complete link to Randolph, but I think there is a Thomas & Matthew. Most of what I know came from the book, The Holt-Bennett Family History. If I'm not mistaken, Simon Holt was the Holt that migrated from Virginia to Georgia, and Tarpley is one of his sons along with my ancestor Robert (another son). I believe there was also a Thaddeus Holt (I think this Thaddeus also had several generations of offspring also named Thaddeus down into Civil War times...) Thaddeus & Tarpley Holt were the owners of huge antebellum white mansions that are prominent in Macon GA near "downtown" and across/down from what used to be a prominent women's college that is now the main Macon Post Office, but was kept in the architectural style of the old college building... We visited these old Holt homes a few year's back in Macon ... although Simon's son Robert (as I've mentioned) is who I descend from via HIS son William Holt who married Frances Cox (a descendant of Cary Cox of Putnam Co., and a Revolutionary War soldier, and great-grandfather of Gen. John B. Gordon)... Sorry this is just all from memory: http://holt.casey-genealogy.com for more. Lee and Mattie have both disappeared by 1920. I was not able to locate anything on Millie Ann Holt, if I knew who she married or perhaps the names of some of the children then I might be able to locate her. I hope this helps more than henders.
