    3. I'm in the same boat as Pam. I live in Missouri and attend college full-time. Would love to have transcript and/or copies of anything available. Mary, feel free to give my e-mail address to Mr. Skinner. I have been trying to research my husband's tree (both Hartley and Holt). Can't seem to get back further than mid 1800s. 3. I found this again in a book at the BYU library today but left my notes there. However I this time read it correctly and feel this is Susanna (a ship). Neads is who he was bound to. Sorry for the confusion. Have several pages of this type material to post after I get my notes back next Wednesday. Emigration, and apprenticeships and they are all in the 1600-1700s. Helene, I have Irby Leroy's Family records etc. What I'm curious about is the relationship/connection between any IRBYs and HOLTs as Irby is NOT your everyday common name. I'm looking for the stories behind the raw data. I have heard from the IRBY-List, a researcher there has sent my query to someone he says has more info on the VA IRBYs. BTW the Land transactions were in Smith co, TEXAS not Tennessee. Which is where he lived and two children are buried near Tyler, Smith co, TX. The Cemetery is also called The HOLT Cemetery in the online transcription : ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/tx/smith/cemetery/holt.txt But thank you for helpin' out. Betty Faye

    3. I have found two ancestors who have the name Irby as a christian name: GGGrandfather Irby Leroy HOLT of GA/TX, and Rev. Irby HOLT of TN. IRBY is not a common name and I am curious to know if there was a connection with the surname IRBY. Close friends, neighbors sometimes are honored by including their names in the children's names. There are IRBYs list in Halifax co, VA about the same time that James HOLT GGGGrandfather and possibly GGGrandfather William, son of James and father of Irby Leroy, were there. Early 1800s, late 1700s. Maybe a Census/tax list, etc with IRBYs as neighbors ..? I have subscribed to the IRBY-List with a query about a HOLT/IRBY relationship but it's too early to have an answer . Do any HOLT researchers have any IRBYs as colaterals, witnesses, neighbors? I can't find any(yet) in Robert HOLT's line but I'm lookin'..
