There is still another book on the Holt family that might be of interest to ever descendant of Michael Holt (the German line). The book is titled ALAMANCE: THE HOLT FAMILY AND INDUSTRIALIZATION IN A NORTH CAROLINA COUNTY, 1837-1900. It is written by Bess Beatty and I highly recommend it. My copy was purchased at the Alamance County Historical Museum for about $20.00 but it is also available through Amazon.com books. This will help as the FHC only has book copies ,no films to rent. I asked at my local FHC and the volunteer said you can wait months or even years to get books fron Salt Lake City...I got to see a copy by Intra-Lib. loan. A remark on the Marshall book . She compiled it with one or two other genealogists and her sole purpose was to trace the lineage of John D.HOLT.Her line goes back to Michael and out to the MO/AR area. It wasn't much help to me since I found out Michael wasn't MY HOLT line..but for Michael researchers it is a valuable book. As always, it pays to check original sources,if possible.. -- Betty Faye (Double first name...ole Suth'n custom) Researching Paternal: HOLT, LINDSEY, CARSWELL, TURNER, TUCKER, RUTHERFORD; Maternal: CLOUD, CHILDRESS, HARMON, WHEELER; Also: PLUMMER

Randall Holt 18, left on the Abigail in 1620 with Dr. Potts. Is this "The Randall Holt"? I have a birthdate for him of 1607.
