Delores, Edith was the sister of my great great grandfather, William N. I have all the information from the book by Dr. Albert Cooper on all the children of John and Isabella. What exactly do you need? Email me privately if you would. Pam
Members: The map of Hog Island has been uploaded to the Holt Message Board section of rootsweb.com. I sent out copies of it before I realized it was too hazy to read. I took my copy to a graphics artist, had it cleaned up and posted that copy to the message board. If you copy the map from that site and bring it up in Netscape or Explorer, it is clear. It can also be printed from Paint. This is a great map for those of you who trace your Holts to Randall Holt of Hog's Island. It shows the property owners close to Hog Island -- owners who married into the Holt line during the 1600s and 1700s. Sue Thompson
Sorry to the list but lost the e-mail Sue sent to me. Thanks so much for the map. It is gorgeous and will go with us to Virginia next month. I plan to find those graves again that I found 3 years ago. Will do some research while back there as well. This map is exceptionally clear, and easy to read. Thanks for your trouble and help. It was generous of you and your time. Contact me so I can get your address. Helene

Dusty Pilgrim I have a book "Southeastern Kentucky 1820 census" compiled and arranged by Norvin Dixon and Norma Dixon. They are deceased and I doubt the book is available. Drury Holt is shown in Whitley Co, KY as follows: 1 white male 26-45 1 female 10-16 2 slaves 1 white mail 45 & up Since 1 white male is shown as 45 & up, possibility of 2 Drury Holts in the household, father and son. Drury Holt is also mentioned in Whitley County, Kentucky County Clerk Minutes Book 1 1818-1822 by Stephen H. Broyles Copyright (c) 1996, by the author Go to: http://www.ultranet.com/~deeds/whitmin.htm I haven't been able to connect to Drury Holt line, have been looking at it since 1980 and exchanged correspondence with 2 others searching his line. Unfortunately they both died in 1998. I have not seen the name Orpha mentioned in any of their correspondence. However there were several Drury Holts, different generations. I've seen the name Orpha once. There was an Orpha Woods who married Daniel Wilson Holt. She was his 3rd wife and much younger than he. She was 20-21 years old when they married about 1899. They had 1 daughter Jamacia Holt b 1900 Whitley Co., KY and a son Forrester Holt who died at age 12. Joyce Holt Taylor grandaughter of Wm Marion Holt b 4/7/1837 Whitley Co., KY and great grandaughter of Mary Polly Holt b 11/1816 who married Jackson Strunk in Whitley Co., KY August 1839
As soon as I receive the information in the mail, I will post it to the list. Hopefully there will be enough information (not just assertion) for people to check it out for accuracy. I was hoping someone would have a record of Charles' children. Sabra Briere sbriere@comcast.net
Sabra Briere sbriere@comcast.net Please share whatever information you get on this on Holt-L@rootsweb.com. It could clear up a lot of mysteries. Joyce Holt Taylor searching grandfather Wm Marion Holt b 4/7/1837 Whitley Co., KY and great grandmother Mary PollyHolt b 11/1816 who married Jackson Strunk in Whitley Co., KY August 1839.

I am from limestone co.Ala. and my grt.grandfather was George W. Holt. His father was David and Davids father was Burrell. That is as far as I have. Is there any relation between the two families? Joyce T.
Tom Harris, Concerning Joseph and Elizabeth Holt. Please, I would like to know if you have the names of Joseph's parents or siblings. I have very little information on my Holts. I have a gggrandfather by the name of Henry Holt from Orange Co., North Carolina born 6-11-1792. His wife was Dorothy Lewter. One of their sons was John William Holt, born in Limestone co., Alabama. Some of your names for Joseph's children are very smiler to some that have been passed down throughout our families to my generation. Just a thought maybe it may tie in with ours. Thank you. jb
Could you post this for comparisons? Dear Holt list, I was just given some new information on Nathaniel Holt that I found intriguing. This correspondent had been told -- she's sending what she has -- that Randall Holt's son, William (b. 1670 on Hogg Island)was the great-grandfather of Nathaniel Holt, through his son, Charles (b. abt. 1700). Her information has Charles marrying Elizabeth Presson (1st) and Sarah Judkins (2nd). From that second marriage, she has Nathaniel Holt, who married Abigail Clanton, great-granddaughter of Randall Holt (Mary Seward Holt > William Holt > Randall Holt). This would make them 1st cousins, once removed. Does anyone have information that would confirm or refute this relationship? Sabra Briere sbriere@comcast.net

I know the family history from him on to me, but know nothing of the history from Wade back, like where and when he was really born and who his parents were.
