    3. Betty and Helene, My dead-end is Barrett Holt who was born in about 1785 and based on letters from his children and grandchildren was a direct relative of John Holt and Edith White. This John can be traced back to Randall. I have a lot of information from others that I would be willing to share including a 28 page descendency written by Andrea Storm who at one time was the "keeper" of the southern Holt family history. I would eventually like to participate in a DNA study and think that getting all of the known facts into one place will really be helpful. Preston Holt

    3. Someone might consider creating a mailing list through YahooGroups or even asking Rootsweb to allow us to create a separate list for descendants of Randall Holt. It might even be a good idea if there was a separate list created for each of the immigrant HOLT lines. (careful though that we don't end up with 10 different lists on the same topic creating by several folks) I suggest this not to supplant this list which has been very useful to me and many others but to create a specific study regarding the descendants of Randall HOLT. A well supported electronic publication could then be produced allowing for a significant contribution to genealogy and HOLT genealogy in particular. If well supported information were collected on these lines then we would be able to answer many questions that are regular to this list. Possibly a DNA study could be considered as well... I suppose what I am proposing here is whether there is enough interest to form a "committee for the study of the descendant lines of Randall Holt the immigrant" -- I know there have been past studies done but it appears to me that these are either particular descendant line specific or a bit dated and extending back to the time before such easy interaction and research methodology as we are now afforded by the internet. Any comments? 3. I discovered this board in January and responded to a Posting that had taken place in 1997. Thank goodness he still had the same e-mail! We are third or fourth cousins and we have been exchanging information and pictures every since. We are both searching for descendants or ancestors for Thomas and Susanna Hitchens Holt. Thomas was born April 10, 1823. We believe he had a brother William and a sister Mary. He married Susanna Hitchens on October 13,1844 at St. Mary, Bury, Lancashire, England. Susanna was born in 1826. We believe both Tom and Susanna were born in Lancashire. Tom and his wife came to Rosefield Township near Peoria, Illinois in the 1850's. They had six children: 1. James Holt born April 4, 1845 2. Benjamin Franklin Holt born April l, 1856 mar. Lizzie Shephard 3. Thomas Hoyle Holt born March 23, 1858 mar. Lillian Morris 4. Mary Ellen Holt born 1862 mar. Frank Erford 5. Lawrence Collinge Holt born March 9, 1864 mar. Lillian Jane Resinger 6. Florence Elener Holt born 1867 mar. J.W. Wales Any help that anyone can give us is greatly appreciated.
