    1. [HOLT-L] Cheif Justice John Holt
    2. In my research and reading biographical articles by others I have never encountered any indication that Justice Holt had any children. His estate, Redgrave Manor, was inherited by his brother Rowland. Rowland had 4 sons and a daughter. The estate passed through the first 3 sons and then to the daughter. My ancestor, Henry, was the 4th son. He had severed ties with the family and left for America and was possibly already dead when he would have inherited the estate. The daughter married into the Wilson family and the estate passed out of the Holt family. Mott Holt

Surnames: Holt, Keesee, Harman Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Eej.2ACIB/2137 Message Board Post: I am searching for any/all descendants and family members of William B. Holt, b. about 1814 in Kentucky, d. about 1885 in Hamilton County, Illinois. William B. Holt married Harriet A Harman on 24 March 1841 in Union County, KY. Harriet was born about 1818 in Virginia and died on 26 June 1896, Hamilton County, Illinois. William and Harriet had at least eight (8) children, noted as follows: (1) Catherine (2) William (3) George (4) John Andrew Jackson (5) Eugene (6) Virginia (7) Annette and (8) Roxey or Roxie Ann or Rocksy Ann. Roxey Ann Holt was born about 1862 in Union County, KY, and married my James C. Keesee, b. 1850 Union Cty, KY, on 27 July 1878, when they "jumped the river" to Shawneetown, Gallatin County, IL. Roxie and James Keesee are noted as living with father/in-law William Holt and family in McLeansboro, Hamilton Cty, IL in the 1880 census. I believe they are then listed in the 1900 census in Collins County, TX. Any assistance/help in finding any descendants or living members of this William B. and Harriet Harman Holt Family, or Roxie Holt and James Keesee Family, will be most appreciated. 3. Here are the Holt individuals listed in the 1845-50 Irish Index of Marriages: YEAR NAME DISTRICT VOLUME PG. 1847 Holt, Elliza Cookstown 4 205 1848 Holt, William Edenderry 5 643 (see note on him below) 1849 Holt, Joshua Dublin South 5 305 1849 Holt, Margaret Edenderry 5 634 (mine - see note below) 1850 Holt, Anna Rathdrum 9 676 1850 Holt, Eliza Edenderry 5 651 (mine - see note below) 1850 Holt, Ellen Crookstown 4 248 1850 Holt, James Londonderry 7 287 1850 Holt, John Dublin North 5 140 1850 Holt, Thomas Clogheen 3 664 There are perhaps Holt marriages in 1850 that go beyond the given name of Thomas, alphabetically - I have a note at the bottom, "next pg.", and don't know where it is - I transcribed this from film in December. Note the difference in the spelling of Cookstown and Crookstown - these are probably the same, but I transcribed the writing as it looked on each entry. William Holt marriage in Edenderry: I have the marriage certificate, if anyone needs the information from it. I thought he was mine due to location, but the father's name doesn't match my g-g-g-gf's, so he may be a nephew. Margaret Holt marriage in Edenderry: My g-g-gm. I have the marriage cert., so let me know if you need the information - she m. Patrick Herbert. Eliza Holt marriage in Edenderry: sister of my g-g-gm. I have the marriage cert., and it appears to be a Donilann she m., although the writing is difficult, and I'm partly guessing at his surname. Let me know if you need the info. Judy Herbert
