I am posting again in the hopes that someone identifies with this line. Henry Holt is on the 1900 census as living in Yoakum (DeWitt) Texas with his daughter Cora Powers. He is widowed, aged 65. He is one of about 10 children born to James and Mary Holt of Lancashire, England. The whole family immigrated to MA sometime in the early 1830's. Henry was born in MA. His family line follows. Looking for any info on William Holt, married to Rhoda Powell, and father of 13 children. He died in Hinds County, MS in 1836. I believe Rhoda remarried to a Westmoreland . I think they cam to MS from TN as Reuben states in the 1850 census of Natchitoches Parish, LA that he was born in TN. I know there were Powells who came into TN from VA and NC so I assume William probably also followed that route. There was a Benjamin Holt already in Natchitoches Parish when Reuben arrived and he was the son of David and Rebecca Belk Holt of MS. Any info would be appreciated. Ray Holt

Holt and Delilah Taylor of Cocke County, Tennessee. The family came from Greene County to Cocke County between 1850 - 1860. It is possible the eldest daughter could married or ended up there. Mary E. Holt was the eldest daughter and born about 1848 in Greene County and Eliza C. Holt born abt 1859 remain total mysteries to me. In Jesse's 1870 cenus record, Mary E. Holt is no longer listed. I don't know if she married or died. The other daughter is Eliza C. Holt born 1859 and shows up for the last time in Jessie's 1880 census as being age 21. She is not listed in the 1900 census and I have not been able to figure out what became of her. I don't know if she married or died. I have accounted for the othere 8 children of Jessie and Delilah, but not these two. I do know that in 1900 Delilah Taylor Holt's census said she had 11 children (one must have died as an infant) with 9 living. That means one of the two girls above was already dead, but the other had to married and living probably in Cocke County but I've had no luck finding either of them. Richard Holt

I managed to get this much from the bible pictured: John H. Holt married Lizzie J. Bartlett on June 5(could be January) 1770 ,> and also Lottie Belle Holt married to Arthur H. I am looking for a Wm Martin Holt b 1844-48 in Marshal co, Ms, married Araminta Jane Pounds born same. They lived in and around Perry co, Ala (Mapleville, Centerville) had daughter (Addie b 1869) son (Wm Martin, Jr 1872). I can trace Araminta from 1850 living with parents then brother 1880 but didn't show any children. In 1900 she was living with daughter-- Addie Jordan in Perry co, Ala. Martin Jr married Nancy Everline Gandy then came to Texas in 190-1901 when is where I come into the picture. Can anyone help me????? Nell

And what was your father's name? My father was Leo Hollie Holt born March 10, 1891 Mtn Grove, Mo. He was the son of Wm Marion Holt b April 7, 1837 Whitley Co., Kentucky. Marion's mother was Mary Polly Holt b Nov 1816, parents unknown, have seen Francis Holt & Sarah Denney listed at parents. She was not married when Marion was born, his father of record shown as Cole Coffey. Mary Polly Holt married Jackson Strunk in Whitley County August 1839 and they had 3 sons, Noah; General Jackson; and Demcy Strunk. 3 daughters Artimissey who married George Sellars, Mahulda who married Frank Sellars, and Armeldy Strunk who married F.M.
