Holt in your line and our line, l feel there is some connection between Pascol Holt and Mary (Polly) Holt Strunk. Hi Joyce, Back home and is good to be home, my daughter from Stanwood.Washington was here when l arrived from Dallas, Texas. I meant to call you when l was there, but forgot as l only stayed two days with Gina and David, my other daughter in Flower Mound. Seems like we have all been traveling my son Howard from Henderson, Tenn. was coming in to Dallas on the day l left enroute to Hawaii with his wife Dorothy. l am glad to see you inquiry about Polly Holt...l also was interested in the Noah Strunk as this is a good indication that she may be related to my Holt line, as the Noah was handed down through out the generations..they used Noah Bradburn Holt..don't know where the Bradburn came from but assume it was a family name passed on..Daniel Wilson Holt's oldest brother was Noah B. Holt..and it could be possible that Polly was a sister of Pascal Holt as she lived in the same area as they did.. The way people with illegitimate children were treated back then was terrible and l understand that people that knew Polly Holt Strunk knew she suffered all her life from the treatment she received during her life.. Howard had a great grandmother in the same situation and she was badly intimidated to her dying day. The trip was wonderful but l am still in Jet lag, even though l slept from Barcelona, spain and then from New york to Dallas, even slept from Dallas to Springfield, Mo. on American. dalughter Cathy was here and picked me up from airport..so now have Cathy, Ron, Bradley and Christina here for another two weeks.. Holt (never found him identified as Toliver) b. ca 19 apr 1921, Grainger Co, TN (we have found various alternate dates from 1818 to 1827 estimated from census entries and family sources, but this date matches his cemetery record) mar. 16 Feb 1844 Grainger Co, TN to Mary J. (Polly) Walker had eight children (details availble), including David Toliver Holt (B. below) farmer moved to NW Arkansas about 1852 d. 22 Jan 1909, near Gravette, Benton Co., AR, where he had lived since 1856-58. We are still trying to figure out who his parents were, but we think his father was one of the sons of yet another, earlier David Holt of Grainger Co., TN, who may have come from VA by way of NC. (more details availabe on him and his family). B. David Toliver "Doc" Holt (don't think we have ever found name 'Toliver' in any official record--although my wife says maybe once--but only or almost only in the recollections of one of his daughters, my grandmother, Emma. Think we have found him as David T. on one land record. Signed his name simply as "Doc Holt" on his wife's death certif.) b. 25 Apr 1858, near Gravette, AR. So I think that accounts for most of your data. Ginny Williams may well be Doc's wife Mary (Jenny) (Williams) Holt. Doc lived with his parents (David T. and Mary/Polly) at Round Prairie Twp, Benton Co, in 1870 (census) and on his own farm at Wallace Twp, Benton Co in 1900 (census) . C. How are you related? The 1820 Census of Orange Co., NC, lists four William Holt's. I am trying to determine if any of these William's had a son name of Pleasant Holt. Wondering if all four of these William's have been researched, their siblings known. If so, does any researcher know whether or not any of them had a son name of Pleasant? I would like to confirm, or at least eliminate these four William's as the potential father of my Pleasant. Cheers, Ron
