The Mississippi Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Ocean Springs, Mississippi honors over 660 Mississippians who were lost in the war and has the pictures of all but 100 engraved on the Memorial. This memorial is second only to the “Wall” in Washington D.C. in size, scope and ambition. ’s picture is one of those missing and this Memorial will never be complete until all the pictures of these brave souls are engraved on the memorial. Your assistance in locating or providing a picture is urgently solicited and the Mississippi Vietnam Veterans Memorial Committee will be forever grateful. Thanking you in advance, Larry L. Joseph Pinckney CAMP] ISO information re: Martha Wylie HOLT (b. 5 Jan 1829) who married Joseph Pinckney CAMP in York District of South Carolina about 1851. Many researchers have listed as her father Achilles (var Akilis, Killis) HOLT who married Jane WYLIE (nee HUNTER). I have reason to believe that Achilles and Jane were not married until after 1829 and after 3 years of study on this family have begun to piece together some long held puzzles. This Martha was apperently probably the step-daughter of Achilles HOLT of York District (now Cherokee County) South Carolina. [source = will of Achilles HOLT] It appears as though Martha had either one or two (Eliza Jane or Eliza and Jane) sisters and at least one brother (Allen WYLIE HOLT) at least; as well as 4 step-brothers (John, Abraham G., Thomas, and Achilles Graves HOLT) and 5 step-sisters (Elizabeth, Lucy, Catherine, Fanny, and Margaret L. HOLT). [source=will of Achilles Holt, census of York District, Tombstones in Cherokee County SC...] Some of these folks are known to have migrated to Alabama and some of the family probably stopped in Georgia. Several remained in what is now Cherokee County South Carolina. I am interested in collaborating with anyone who may be researching any of these lines. [HOLT, CAMP, WYLIE, HUNTER, GRAVES]
