George Holt born 1860 is my grt grt grandfather. His family moved to Bolton Lancashire around 1880. I am looking for any info on John C. Holt and wife Elsadie Holt. John was born in Illinois abt. 1846 and Elsadie in Tenn abt. 1843. Children were James L. Holt born in Illinois, the following children born in Mo. Mary L. Holt, Charles W. Holt and Lewellen Holt. There are no Allen Holt's listed in the 1880 census born in 1833, I will look for middle name if you have it. But at the moment it looks like he may have died before 1880. Do you have anything else that might be helpful? Donna

Holt, farmer. married, 30, b. in Tn., as were both parents Bell, keeps house, wife, 18, b. in Mo., both parents b. in Tn Maggie, dau, 2, b. in Mo. William, son, 1, b. on Mo. Living next door: W. C. Holt, farmer, married 30, b. in Tn., as were both parents Emley, keeps house, wife, 18, b. in Mo., both parents b. in Tn Jacb. E., son, 6, b. in Mo. Lucy J., dau, 2, b. in Mo. The above 2 are the only male Holt's listed in the 1880 census that might match your criteria. I can not find a good match on the women. Hope this helps. Donna

Hi, I have been trying to find out more about my g-g-grandfather John K.(or R)Holt who married Jane E.??? I found in a marriage index for Alabama where a John Holt married a Jane E. Ginunit on Oct. 09, 1852 in Morgan Co., AL. The first child of my John and Jane E. was born in AL on Apr. 18, 1854, his name was William J. Holt. Does any of this sound familiar to anyone.
