I have also learned that George A. D. Nease left Indiana, moving west. At least one person has indicated Nebraska, another Kansas. Maybe your MO George?? My George A. D. Nease was born in 1833 in Tennessee. I have also learned that he died at age 64 (around 1897) - I know not where.

    1. [HOLT-L] Nathaniel G Holt 1836 - 1917
    2. jhubbard
    3. Nathaniel (or Nathan) Green Holt b Nov 25 1836 near Nashville TN. He bought 40 acres of land in Marion County IL in 1856. He married (1) LAURA JANE SMITH. She was born 11 Feb 1855 in ?, ?, LA, and died 18 Jan 1933. He married (2) SARAH RACHEL RAY 9 Sep 1858 in Marion Co., IL. She was born 5 Sep 1843 in IL, and died 1 Jan 1892 in TX. Nathaniel and Sarah moved to Texas 6 May 1872 (from Illinois with several other families, following the Katy Railroad to Dennison, TX, the end of the railroad. ). So they started across the bald prairie land and came to Indian Creek in the Dido community in the northwest part of Tarrant Co.. The Holts and their first three children arrived here on May 6, 1872. They bought 160 acres of land. The last two children were born here. The Holts lived on this place six years when they bought land in the Aurora community. Here they built a new house and barn. They cleared the land with saw and axe. In 1892 Sara R. Holt and two of their children died (one was Emily Elizabeth Holt, wife of Joseph Worth Ray and mother of Nettie Grace Ray, Mark Ray, Volney Ray, and Lalah Ray). Adjoining the Aurora farm was the farm of a neighbor by the name of Richard Fritz. After Mr. Fritz died in 1895, Nathan G. Holt married the widow, Mrs. Laura Fritz. One child, Marvin Holt, was born to this union. The Holt family lived on the farm until Marvin was six years old. Then they moved to Rhome, Texas, in 1902, where they lived until their deaths. Bought land in the NW corner of Tarrant Co.. In 1878 moved and bought land 1 mile east of Aurora. Moved from that farm to Rhome on 1 Jan 1902. Nettie Grace Ray came to live with them in 1903 and helped take care of their son, Marvin. Please note that this is not the Nathaniel Holt who was born in 1812, about whom there are numerous postings on this list. Do your Holts include any of these Holts? Janet Hubbard

    1. [HOLT-L] Joseph Holt (Bolton, Lancs)
    2. Rachel OBrien
    3. Hi, do any of you know of a Joseph Holt b approx. 1856 in Bolton but showing on the 1881 Census as living at 182 Greenacres Road, Oldham. Lancs. He is married to Elizabeth and have one son George S. Holt. Both Joseph and Elizabeth appear to be Teachers (Master Public E. School). Family history also has a link to an address of Waterloo Road in Oldham. If any of this means anything to you please respond. I am ecstatic - this is the first time I have found any link to this side of the family. I will be following up this new lead by going to the local library but just in case it rings any bells out there. Thanks Rachel.
