    3. Ron, I can't place him just yet; but am working on all desc of RW Pvt. Reuben Holt of Orange Co., NC, who moved to Montgomery Co., TN (adjacent to Dickson Co.), where he has a huge progeny. Have you checked the 1906 death cert, or does TX have them for 1906? (Sometimes gives parents' names!). I'll keep looking, and let me know if you have any more clues. Cleo. cdmhogan@usit.net

    3. Hi Cleo thanks for the reply. James M. Holt was born in 1824 or 1825 believed in TN, was orphaned in 1841, died in Hill county TX 1906, buried in Fort Graham Cemetery. Benjamin Matthew Holt b: 1861 in Limestone Co. al., was first married to Mary Sturgeon(12-1-1883) and they had two sons, John and Tushoskie. Mary died giving birth to the younger son. Benjamin moved to Lamar Co. Texas and married Ida Mae Jackson.Those two had nine children and also the two boys from the previous marriage. They both died in Vintia Ok., Ida is buried there and Benjamin was brought to Durant, Ok. by a son and is buried in Highland Cemetery. Benjamin is the son of John William and Lucy Newby Holt. I do intend to get in touch with you, I have added more to this because of the confussion I have seen on the Benjamin Holts. Maybe this might help the other Holts that are searching. jhb

    3. Helene, Richard et al, This is what I have (in a nutshell) on Drury Holt Sr. and Drury Holt Jr. The only child I have listed for Drury Holt Jr. is Henry Holt, so as you can see not much info. My line is Drury Holt Sr. then Doswell Holt. I have quite a bit on that line. There are a couple of Alfreds in this line and one Perry. The Perry is from the Henry Holt line who went to AR...Perry born 1891.     3. Bob he is too late. My Perry born 1820 SC. Still can't link him to a father. Had hoped to in SC. Had hoped he was a child of Phillip born bef 1780 of Edgefield Dist. SC. He administered John's will but was not named in it so have never felt that he was John's son though he could be. The Mundays are intermarried and some of the Holts are given the Mundy name as middle names. Note for Phillp: page 296-298 John Wallace to Phillip Holt, planter. Deed, 1 June 1797, Pounds 50 Sterling, 100 acres granted to said Wallace by patent 1 February 1797 on Savannah River bounding on lands of Reuben Munday. Wit. Joseph Wallace, William Shellnutt.
