That is a possibility. I have a death ceert. for a Catherine Permelia holt which states father as John but then someone has come up with the father being amos holt. Catherine 1st md. Sanford Duncan 1862 (?) in Blount co. then a Lemley in Morgan co. Al. and then her death cert. is her 3rd surname of chaney. I`ll look at ambrose. Thanks Sue
Do you know anything about him, children, birth date/location? Something to help narrow it down, but there was no Amos in Blount County, Alabama in 1850 with the last name of Holt, in fact there was only 1 Amos and his last name was White, could your Amos' first name have possibly been Ambrose instead of Amos Holt? Donna

A proven male Holt from your line could rule out or prove your connection to Plunkett using DNA. We have that DNA in our database on the Family Tree DNA Holt Surname Project. We also have 50 members and their DNA to compare against. This latest tool for genealogy can be found at http://www.familytreedna.com/public/holt and http://www.holtfamilydnaproject.com Give it a try.......... Hi, My Holt line comes from the immigrants Henry and Dorcas (Armstrong) Holt immigrated ca1730. They had a son Thomas who was Christened in Christ Church (Episcopal) in Philadelphia, Sept 27, 1733 at one month of age. Hi, Myra. Since there is still some misunderstanding about the unsubscribe messages you are getting, I thought I would try to help. First of all, you are Not doing anything wrong. It is good to have another Holt researcher on the list. If you are new to the list, you may not know that when someone sends the list administerar a email asking to unsubscribe, that email goes to each person on the list, just as any email you send goes to everyone on the list. This is probably what happened. So as long as you are getting all the emails from the list and as long as the rest of us are getting yours, don't worry about it. Welcome aboard! Also, if each person would put their first name at the bottom of their email, it would help to avoid confusion as to who sent what.
