I am interested in the parents and birthplace of Hugh HOLMES or HOMES. Hugh first shows up in probate records in Lincoln Co. in the early 1760 period. He is identified as husband of widow Mary HOPKINS, also of Newcastle, ME.He is also identified with others on a petition called the Petition of the Pemaquid Heirs, which involved a Lincoln Co. land dispute. Hugh was a constable, and is mentioned in the History of Newcastle. He was a Rev. War Lieutenant, serving in Capt. Joseph Jones' Co. in Lincoln County. He was also a 1st Lieutenant in Col.
