Looking for any information on the ancestors of Almira HOLMES. Almira was born on 9/16/1812, parents unknown, probably in the Springfield area of Massachusetts. Apparently she had a brother named Stephen G. (or S.) Holmes, who was an armorer in Springfield. Almira married Abner Belknap CRANE in 1832 and they had two daughters, one of whom died in infancy. Abner B. CRANE died on 3/13/1843 and Almira remarried a man named NICHOLS. She relocated to Troy, New York, where she lived until her death in July 1874.
