Does anyone know of either of these Thomas Holmes? "Thomas Holmes, Hingham, perhaps at least one that name came in 1637, as servant to William Ludkin, who was of the City of Norwich, and set down here, H." "Thomas Holmes, New London, born at London came in 1665; by wife Lucretia, or Lucia, daughter of Thomas Dudley, of New York, had John, born 1686; he died 1724; his wife, 1688." Also I never knew that in the early years of Migration, that since so much of the Colonies was under British rule, you didn't have to become a citizen of the states, since it was under British rule. So, does anyone know HOW I would go about tracking someone from the late 1700s that was born or came to the states? Would I have to check out England, or would I look for records here. I have a son (or brother) of Thomas, John born in PA in 1798 PA. Hope this made sense..:) I am just not sure where or what to do next.. Thanks.. Carolyn
