I am looking for information on James Holmes b 1790 in GA, son of Gideon Holmes. Gideon's will, dated 21 Feb 1811, was listed in Elbert Co., GA Deed Book N, page 130. It leaves most everything to his son James. James, I believe, married twice. He is found on the 1850 Elbert Co., GA census with a 35 year old woman named Nancy. There is 25 years difference in their ages. I find a marriage listing for James Holmes to Nancy Adams in Elbert Co., GA on 18 Oct 1829. They are on the 1830 and 1840 census also with the correct ages. Nancy would only have been about 14 when they married. Does anyone have information on either Gideon or James? Thanks, Rochelle
