Looking for any information on a Marvin William or possibly William K Holmes who traveled I think with his family from Tennessee to California on foot when "he was 16". Came back from California to Texas, where he married "Molly" (Frances?) BLASINGAME and settled in Bastrop County, Texas, where he raised a family, and died in Nacona, Montague County, Texas. Father is possibly James Holmes who is mentioned in The History of Coleman County (texas) as coming from Tennessee with his wife ELizabeth BLASINGAME, or possibly this was an older brother. A Tom and Calvin Holmes are mentioned as early settlers in Coleman County in the 1830s as well. According to a granddaughter of Marvin's he was born in Scotland. His known children include: William Woodson or "Willard" b. 1862 "Bill" George Jr?
