Christopher, My HOLMES line comes from Cattaraugus Co. NY and McKean Co. PA. I know very little about them. I have traced back to William (d 1895) who was a surveyor and married Georgia E. HILBERT. They had two children: Hazel (my grandmother--1891-1971) and Harry (b 1887). William died young and Georgia remarried. Could there be a connection here?
