Thomas Holmes b. Virginia ca. 1782 marrying Margaret Craig b. Virginia ca 1798. These were both orphans. Each child supposedly did not survive to have children. One wife was Milly and the other Jamimma. A daughter named Melissa and a son named Napoleon (Bony) Holmes by one wife. Napoleon was killed at Fort Donelson Tenn. with W. Winston Co. Beaugard Rifles. His first marriage to Gertrude Egner Hauenstein d. 17 July 1953 in Caddo OK buried in Caddo Ok. resulted in four children: Egner Gertrude Holmes b 1 Oct 1862 in Staples Texas d. 1971 in Michigan. (Vern Other Holmes married Sarah Bostick and had one child Martha Ann Holmes before Vern died in an accident in 25 June, 1933 Dallas,Tx. Vern was buried in Grove Hill cemetery in Dallas Texas. Martha Ann Holmes was taken by a Kerbow family and raised. John Sam Holmes, Sr then married Minnie Mae Hudson b. 4 Feb 1898 in LeagueVille Texas d. 14 April 1964 in Lancaster Texas. Both are buried in Ovilla Cemetery, Ovilla Texas.
