Here's a possibility for you: In 1809, Henry Holmes Sr. deeded property in Washington Co. to William and Henry Holmes Jr. Henry Sr. had a daughter, Ann, who married Alexander McGuffey in 1797, so this William was probably in the right age bracket to be yours. The deed is in vol. u, page 957, of the Washington Co. deeds. There are also two more deeds mentioning William and Henry in vol. v, pages 307 and 308. If this turns out to be yours, Henry Holmes Sr. married Jane Roney. There is an extensive genealogy of the Holmes family in the Horn Papers, vol. II, by W. F. Horn, pages 664 to 671. Whether it is true or not remains to be proven. I haven't been able to find any evidence that any of the earlier Holmes mentioned in the book ever existed. -----Original Message----- From: random <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Date: Saturday, January 16, 1999 8:13 PM Subject: Re: HOLMES-, William 1773 Pa. >Need info on William Holmes b 1773, d 1825.
