Please excuse this reply to the list, but I had just finished the learning curve on a MIME and felt others on the list would benefit. A "MIMI" is a digitally encrypted file, for security reasons or whatever. In order to read it, the message has to be addressed to you personally and you have to get their digital id and put it in your address book. I am using Outlook Express and I did one about 5 minutes ago for the first time. I opened the message, double clicked on the person's name which brought up the add to address book screen. I had to ADD them and then I was able to read the files. Please note, the reason I started this in the first place is that someone sent me a message to my AOL account and I was not able to "decode" it, so I had them send it to this account and found out what to do. I would suggest, since you are on AOL, is to contact their technical support and find out if/how to "decode" it. Hope this helps. -Doug -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Date: Friday, January 29, 1999 3:43 PM Subject: Re:MIME-Version: 1.0 or other MIME versions > >Could you please explain what the MIME-Version: 1.0 is and what is its use?? > >Thanks, > >Bill Holmes >[email protected] > >
