Hello all you Holmes researchers!! I have been searching for quite awhile for my gr,gr,grandmother Lavina Holmes b.Dec.1852,who married Elisha Cheek b.Jan.1846. I dont have a marriage date but they told the 1900 cesus that they were married for 27 years so that would be somewhere around 1870-74 for this marriage.Elisha came from the tacooa,area in Franklin,Co.Ga. while Lavina Holmes came from the Tacooa,area in Habersham,Co.Ga.They married and moved to Hayesville,NC. in Clay,Co.Their 1st child was born in Oct.1873 in NC.According to the 1860&1870 census Lavina was the d/of a William Holmes and Lucy Rich Holmes,I havent any information on the Holmes/Rich family.But if any of you are researching this Holmes line I need to hear from you.If any of you happen to have a marriage date for Lavina&Elisha Cheek again I need to hear from you.If anyone is researching this family line again I need to hear from you and I can provide some family info for descendents of Lavina&Elisha Cheek.
