Becky, I bet anything these Holmes that lived in Illinois could be related to my Holmes. My Charles Tarbell Holmes was born in MA but went to Winnebago CO Illinois, Death place was Rockford Illinois. His dad was Ira Holmes, but don't have any info on him. Charles was born in 1841. He was married in 1867 in Illinois to Mary Josephine Packard, she was from Winnebago CO, Illinois...Cherry Valley to be exact. She also died in Rockford. I have no photos of CHarles, only one of Mary. Charles was my grandfather Bert Stimax's biological father, being adopted out at little over a year old. I will have to look up in my info, a couple siblings names that I have for my grandad Bert. I am going to start seeking information on Charles, and see if I can find anything on him. I just started this line, so guess it will take awhile. But I bet there will be a connection here, possibly! Anything I find out, I will surely let you know. Okay, just found a paper...states children of Charles: Addie born 1866, Rose A, b 1870, Charles William, b 1872, Ira E b 1875, Clara D b 1877, and Frank R born 1879. Then my grandad Bert, born 1886. Supposedly though, they had 10 children. Also, Charles had a sister named Abigail, age 13 in the 1850 census of Pepperell MA. So that is what I have, who knows maybe I will find something you need.
