Is there anyone who can help with this brick wall? Alpheas HOLMES reportedly born in Egremont, Berkshire Co., Massachusetts, probably in the 1740's. Married Adria HURLBUTT on Nov. 8, 1769 in Salisbury, Litchfield Co., Ct. They had five sons: William Joseph James John Daniel, b. Oct. 15, 1781, in Massachusetts. He died on Nov. 20, 1854 in Richmond, Ontario Co., NY. Alpheas is supposed to have lived to the age of 100, "well and harty at the time of his deth wich was caused by a stroke of lightening." Other than the marriage record and military record serving in a Conn. regiment during the French and Indian War, I can find nothing about him. Any leads gratefully received.
