I am searching for any info on the Phillip HOLMES family. I start with Clara Holmes, b. IL 1869, known ggrandmother, with parents Phillip Holmes and Cynthia Owens. I found Phillip with Cynthia and daughter Clara on Morgan Co. IL 1870 census, but Clara was 3? and Phillip was 24. Through process of supposition, I also found a 1860 census with Palmer Holmes and wife Fanny, Morgan Co. with son Phillip aged 14, and the same family with Phillip aged 5 in the 1850 census for Morgan. Other siblings listed with this family (combining both censuses) are Louisa, Maria, Henry, Emily, Francis, Mary, and Berlinda, with a possible addition of Stephen, who lived next door at the time of the 1860 census. All siblings were born in Illinois. All of these state that Palmer was born in CT, and Fanny was from NY. Do any of these people have ties to someone on the list?
