Hi, I'm new to this list and I thought I would put my HOLMES into the mix. I am researching Emily Jane HOLMES who was born 1836 in Kentucky. I do not know when she died but it was probably in Henry County, Ky. She married John JONES (B 1836 - D abt 1880) 26 April 1853 in Henry County, Ky. Their children were Phoebe JONES (my great-grandmother) B 5 Dec 1859 in Ky and D 24 Jan 1892 in Ky., Mary E. JONES, Samuel JONES and John E. JONES. All born Henry County, Ky. Emily Jane HOLMES parents were - Thomas HOLMES B abt 1819, possibly in Nicholas County, Ky. I have also found him on the Montgomery County, Ky. Census. Mother was Martha Ann (last name unknown) B 1815 in Ky. Their children were Emily Jane, James W., Louisa J., John, David, Nancy, Albert, Lucy Ann. I believe Thomas HOLMES died before Emily Jane and her children moved to Henry County, Ky.
