    3. Does anyone have family data to exchange about Coos County, New Hampshire, Holmes families? Harry Reed HOLMES Obituary "Coos County Democrat," Weds., December 4, 1907, p. 1. HARRY R. HOLMES Harry Reed Holmes, only son of Valorus R. and Clara Holmes, whose life came to an untimely end on Nov. 20, 1907, was born in Whitefield, NH, March 16, 1875. A little later his parents moved to Fabyans where they remained eleven years, and it was while living here that he began to attend the academy at Littleton; then they moved to Northumberland and he completed his course at Littleton, going to and from school each day on the train. For the past few years his father's extensive business has been largely in his hands; in conducting it he has won the confidence, praise and respect of his business associates to a remarkable degree. He was a member of North Star Lodge No. 8, A.F.&A.M., North Star Arch Chapter; North Star Commandery; Mt. Sinai Temple Mystic Shrine and Nashua Consistory. He was a great lover of sports. In his daily life he was honest, generous, kind -- a friend, of men in the strongest sense of the word. "Those who knew him best have loved him most" and all were proud to honor and respect him. On Sept. 1, 1906 he married Sarah E. Jordan, and their married life has been one long day dream of happiness -- a dream from which the awakening is sad, indeed, and yet the Reaper has promised that "Though the breath of these flowers is sweet to me, I will give them all back again." To his father and mother he gave a whole-souled love and devotion; a love and devotion that in its expression made the days brighter and their lives happier until they had come to the enjoyment of those he loved. It can truly be said of Harry Holmes that he was happiest when by some unobtrusive act he could add to the enjoyment of those he loved.
