"Jefferson" Freeman Holmes died at his home Sunday morning after a long illness of a complication of diseases and a general breaking down. Mr. Holmes was a veteran of the Civil War and a pensioner. He was mail carrier between Highlands station and Jefferson Highlands. He is survived by ten children: Walter, Carl and Etta of this town, Sherman and Ned of North Stratford, Wallace of Apthorp, Sam of Whitefield, Freeman of Boston, Mrs. James Reynolds of Intervale and Mrs. Lilla Mosher of Nova Scotia. His first wife and mother of the children died several years ago but he married again and is also survived by the wife of the second marriage. Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday.
