my brick wall is Garnett Holmes-born 1776-- va- moved to the Carolinas-married a Sarah ? also born Va late 1770s. one of the sons is listed as being born SC another NC. they were listed on the Ga land lottery in the 1830s. that is the first time he is listed anywhere -- we figure the Garnett is a middle name and the first half of his life he used his first name. Garnett and Sarah were probably married early 1790s. he is last listed on the 1860 census in Randolph Co,Ala living with his son Lawson Holmes Ann
