time again to post my Holmes-in case some new people have come online looking for Garnett Holmes- born 1770s- Va. married Sarah ? born 1780- Va- their last two children were Lawson B. Holmes and James Holmes- born early 1800s in the Carolinas. we figure there were others but married and left home before any census info was required. also think that Garnett is a middle name as he does not appear on any records before the Ga land lottery.
