I have seen the name Odediah Holmes many times in the book First Settlers of Ye Plantations of Piscataway and Woodbridge, Ole East New Jersey, 16664-1714 by Orra Eugene Monnette, for example. from page 147 Staten Island Names Tyson's Creek.
