I am looking for a nice family to attach Clara A. Holmes to. She was born Sept. 27, 1868 in Illinois. She married Leonard F. Cross about 1886 and they had 4 children: Earl -1887, Harry - 1889, Frederick - 1891, and Della - 1893. Earl was born in Adair Co. IA, and the rest were born in Avoca, Pottowattamie Co. IA. They moved to Omaha, NE about 1901/02 and Leonard died as a result of a fire in his bakery. She then married a gentleman with the surname of Carter. She died on March 30, 1945, and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, in Avoca. The only other clue I have is that she had a sister or sister-in-law by the name of Rose. Might my Clara belong to any of you? I would love to give her a birth home and parents to go with it. Dawn-Moree Dugan
