I too am looking for Holmes *possibly* around Leiceister and Lincolnshire although more likely from Yorkshire (I've included some of the Yorkshire info I've collected as well). Tn. One of their children was Haywood Herring. He had a daughter named Catherine Herring who married William Rogers Miles. They are buried in the Adams cemetery in Adams Tn. They were my great grand parents. It was always said that through S. Holmes we were kin to Oliver Windell Holmes, but I can't find the connection if there is one. I have a Supreme Court Case of Tenn. where she is mentioned and all her children. It had to do with an estate of Haywood Herring's brother, David, and they were disputing who gets what. Will
