    3. Somehow I missed the original post of the Holmes family of Clinton+Lycoming Co., PA, but I'm very interested. My g-grandmother was Lydia Jane HOLMES, born in Lock Haven, Clinton Co., PA on Aug. 1, 1865. Her father was Seth HOLMES & mother was Sarah Dora KENNELLY. We know they lived on Church St. Just recently we found a Jonathan HOLMES family who also lived in Clinton Co. on Church St. and he did have a son Seth. Do any of you have any information on this family?     3. Im trying to trace forebears of my great grandmother,Rebeccah Holmes who married Peter Lauritsen Rugsted in 1891 in New Zealand. All I know about her is that her birthday was in July and her marriage cert suggests she was born 1870. She had a sister Naomi ( who married a W jackson in NZ) and a brother Charles. >From that I have found a possible match on LDS: a Rebeccah who was born 08/07/1870 in Staffordshire Uk to Charles and Rosanna Holmes. Ohio with all surnames beginning with "H" from mid 1800's to early 1900's and would be glad to do a free look up to see if your family is mentioned in this book. I have created a format that I believe will help anyone searching for their family..I have combined: Newspaper articles, marriages, deaths, mini bio's, court records, cemetery records and more....all with the surname in Bold print for easy searching. I was tired of buying a lot of books that had so much that didn't help me and thought if I'm tired of wasting money so will others. While I am bound by certain rules by my publisher I can do free look ups and if your family is mentioned I can let you know the print date and the cost of the book.     2. James and Eliz. had James Calvin Holmes in 1834 who married Emily Hammadine Tanner in 1850. They had 12 children, one of whom was John David Holmes b. 1856. John David married Sarah Laura Holmes (first cousins unfortunately). Sarah's parents were Richard Holmes (James and Eliz's child too) and Frances Ann Ashburn. Sara and John David had Ernest Walter Holmes, SR. in 1883 - the founder of the Holmes Wrecker (tow truck) in Chattanooga, TN. Ernest married Hattie Jane Hackett (who loved geneology and did lots of this research), who had Ernest Walter Holmes, Jr., who married Mary Belle Childress, who had my daddy, John David Holmes. Anyway - I'm seeking info on James Grimes's parents and siblings as well as Elizabeth Buchanan Newton's. Any help is greatly appreciated.

HOLMES, b. 1836 in TN & Lettie R. RICHARDSON, b. 1838 in TX. Lettie was the dau. of Benjamin RICHARDSON & Rebecca POOL. There has been quite a bit written on the RICHARDSON family, as well as a historical marker erected at Richardsons Bluff, in Jasper county, TX. Have more info, and looking for still more, and excited that I can share!!!
