Hi All you Holloway searchers, I was looking through a book called "Cattle Brand of the Acadiens and Early Settlers of Louisiana-Attakapas and came across a Charles Alloue/Holloway with a cattle brand in the year 1798. The spelling was strange Alloue with a note that the name was Holloway. Also in 1793 was listed a Charles Holloway, with his cattle brand listed. They a probably one and the same. Also, for anyone searching for Holloway in Louisiana I came across 2 families in Volume 33 Additional entries 1756-1904 from Donald J. Hebert's books on Southwest Louisiana. They are as follows: HOLLOWAY, Hermogene (Joseph & Louisa PICARD) m. 25 Aug. 1902 Amanda DOUCET (Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA: Vol 5, p 105 HOLLOWAY, Isaac of Scotland, a Presbyterians (Isaac and Elizabeth RIDE) m. 21 Jan. 1798 Elizabeth METAYER of North Carolina (St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, LA. These church records begin in 1756. I just thought this would be interesting to some of you.
