WALKER (7 Dec 1853), dau. of EDWARD WALKER. Samuel's first wife went by both her first name (Martha) and middle name (Frances). We don't know her HOLLOWAY parents, but think she may be the daughter of William HOLLOWAY and Frances MEADOR. William is a son of John HOLLOWAY and Hannah SPIERS of Cumberland, VA. Both of Samuel's marriages took place in Mecklenburg, VA. Samuel Henry HOLLOWAY moved to (Person) Granville County, NC ca. 1848. In 1859, he relocated to Warren County. Many of his descendants still live in Nutbush County, Warren and Vance County, North Carolina today. Samuel's family is recorded on the Ridgeway Post Office, Warren County Census of 1860 as: S.H.
