    3. I've been watching this list for a couple weeks, and thought I'd sign in and identify myself. So far I haven't seen any Holloway lines that I can identify with mine. My Holloway line is descended from Isaac HOLLOWAY, Sr. (born in ca.1751? in England, died in 1808 in Washington Co, PA) and any info I have comes from the Holloway book published in 1927. Supposedly 2 brothers, William and Isaac, came to America sometime after 1751 . William went to West Virginia - no further record. Isaac settled near Ten Mile Creek in Washington Co, PA and is the Isaac Holloway identified in DAR lineages as a Drum Major under Lt. James Long. He was married to Margaret Caldo (1755-1817) in 1773 in Northampton Co, PA. Children were: 1. Isaac, Jr. (b. 25 Jul 1774; d. 15 Jul 1847) married to Katherine PURCELL 2. Moses - supposedly moved to Ohio 3. David - supposedly moved to Indiana Children of Isaac HOLLOWAY, Jr. and Katherine PURCELL: 1. Ira (b. 17 Mar 1799; d. either 1875 or 1878, buried in Kansas, m. Esther HILL) 2. Elkanah (b. 4 Dec 1801; d. 27 Dec 1856; m. Christena) 3. Eleanor (b. 12 Jul 1804; d. 12 June ??; m. Dr. Huston BORLAND) 4. John P. (b. 28 Sep 1806; d. 18 Oct 1834; unmarried) 5. Anna (b. 14 Feb 1809; m. Adam McCORMACK) 6. Martha (b. 23 May 1812; d. 16 Apr 1834; unmarried) 7. James Purcell (b. 23 Mar 1814; d. 27/28 Aug 1898; m. 21 Mar 1837 in Mercer Co, PA to Mary Jane BARNES) James Purcell is my direct ancestor, and is how my line became HALLOWAY. He changed the spelling because of mail mixups while at Alleghany College in Meadville, PA. His line usually spells in HALLOWAY. Please contact me if it looks like we can hook this info back to England and with other early American Holloways Snail mail at: Marta Ralston Nelson 2634 S.
