Hi, My maiden name was Holloway. My father's name was Melvin Holloway,jr. His father was M.M. Holloway born about 1857 in Indiana(according to 1900 census). He was a brick layer and plasterer and went to Monette,Arkansas in 1915-1920. There he met and married my grandmother Mollie Baxley in 1919. They then moved to Oklahoma where he worked in his trade until 1923-24. Two children were born, Hazell Lee in 1921 and Melvin,Jr. in 1923. I have been told that M.M.Holloway died of TB when my dad was about a year old. Their mom then took the kids back to Ark. where she also died of TB. The kids were then placed in a Church of Christ Children's Home. I've also been told that M.M. had grown children in Oklahoma at the time he went to Ark. to work. I didn't mean to rattle on but I have heard from other researchers that you are the person to write to about Holloways. Please put me on your mailing list. I certainly need all the help I can get. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.
